About Us

Meet Jo

Jo was born and raised in Lilburn, GA, a small suburb about 30 miles outside of Atlanta, as one of eight children.

All the Crist children were homeschooled during most of their school age years which allowed them the freedom and opportunity to find their passions. Jo’s interest in construction started during this time. While the family continued to grow, the need for space in their house followed suit. The Crist house was constantly under construction with remodels, additions, and repairs to keep up with the ever-growing family. Jo’s passion for construction propelled him to receive a degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Building Construction.

By working his way through college, Jo was able to fine tune his passion and skills which ultimately lead to the commercial construction sector. His early career was in the field as a superintendent, which, in hindsight, was the most valuable experience he could gain. This allowed Jo to understand the intricacies and processes required to complete a project and has helped advance his career. After 15 years of working in the industry, Jo’s experience and skill has allowed him to pursue his dream of creating a contracting firm where innovating thinking and strategic planning are at the forefront of the way Emjack does business.
